In a previous blog post, I had already mentioned the one-legged priest's pronouncement (which could very well be accurate) regarding the violence on the urban streets he offers spiritual refuge to and the undead that seem to be gaining traction through their eating of the living and through the feast leaving a virus that turns the victims into them, believing society's authority will lose. I like the quiet of the scene before the priest enters to. There's this moment where these two guys stop, take a deep breath, take a few drags of a cig, discuss ditching the police force, and hit the bricks for some place (hopefully) safer. I like it because with all the chaos, to find just a moment of peace is a blessing. It will interrupted by the priest who offers a possible foreshadowing of future events.
I loved this homage to Night of the Living Dead (1968) where a boarded room is investigated by members of the SWAT, releasing unknowingly a horde of zombies that overrun them.
