Todd & the Book of Pure Evil - B.Y.O.B.O.P.E
This episode of Book of Pure Evil has the titular Todd and
Book showing up at a party of his peers, with all the expected boozing and
making out. The Book causes those in attendance of the party to rip hearts out
of each other's chests, with the activity passed around the entire house!
Meanwhile Nikki (later learned to be the three metalheads forged into a uniform
babe eliciting their boorish traits!) must get Todd laid so he becomes the Evil
One and bring about the apocalypse! Jenny, of course, tries to get over her
jealousy of Todd being with someone else (Todd really thinks Nikki is a serious
relationship, not some one night stand with a high school dropout) and help
stop him from losing his virginity after listening to a record she finds in the
house (it seems the matriarch of the home likes her Satanic rock!) spelling out
the three ways it takes to be the Pure Evil One. Hannah and Curtis seem to be
on the verge of losing their virginity when Jenny spoils things (Curtis and Todd
make a "lose our virginity" bet!) by requesting their assistance in
stopping Todd's fucking Nikki. And not to be too far from the presence of the
Book of Pure Evil, Atticus, carrying an ice cooler containing his dad's head he
talks to (!), arrives to the party assuming an identity although everyone knows
it’s their school's guidance counselor. Also a popular party student, after
losing his own heart to a Book-possessed girlfriend, watching it stomped in
front of him, steals from another student giving him a blowjob so he can
continue to live, suffering the effects of not holding his liquor. It seems he “passes
off” this curse and realizes he eventually can hold his booze, just as long as
he pats others on their back or shoulder so they are cursed instead of him.
When he kisses the school cheerleader (she likes a man who holds his booze),
something about this that “poisons” him, leaving him in this collapsed heap on
the floor. The episode toys around with kids at a party, fueled by hormones and
liberated by kegs of beer, and the Book of Pure Evil on the loose, causing
bodily harm and this circle of violence involving the loss and gain of a heart
in order to keep partying! It is as silly as it all sounds. Jenny is a fun
character, I think, and is often the true hero of the show, while Todd is a bit
of a dimbulb needing all the help he can get. And Carmen Lavigne is just
delish, even when completely crude.
