The top films of these two years make my all-time favorite horror films list so that goes to say the 1940s have some gems I treasure. I often revisit this decade a lot. All of the above films I can pop on anytime during the dead of night. I couldn't remember if I Walked with a Zombie was in the same year as Cat People but I was honestly relieved I didn't have to pick between them.

I have noticed that The Wolf Man has lost its shine with a lot of horror fans, which is disappointing since I obviously adore the film and Chaney in the lead. But to each their own.
