Scream the Series - The Second Season: Dawn of the Dead
The school is obviously locked down by Sheriff Miguel Acosta after Jake's dead body dropped onto the stage with Brooke soaked in blood and shaken by the experience. Sheriff Acosta is now tasked with finding a killer among a whole school of suspects. Emma hears a buzzing phone and finds Jake's missing phone in her backpack. That provides an episode-long agony where Emma must determine whether or not to turn the phone in to Sheriff Acosta. Kieran has a gun (his father's) in his locker and feels obligated to nab it before cops, searching the lockers in the school, get to it. So Noah and Kieran escape the Learning Center (library) when Zoe and Audrey stage a vomit ruse, gaining the attention of the protection outside the door. But Kieran can't get away with the gun, caught by cops, taken to talk with Sheriff Acosta. Sheriff Acosta wants Kieran to help him through any intel he might secure among the students in school. Kieran gives up Emma and the phone, which means interrogation by Sheriff Acosta on her experience in the psyche ward and her trauma with PTSD thanks to the Ghostface killer. Okay, so other high school drama includes Brooke realizing the person contacting her pretending to be Jake was the killer, Hayley (the brat who initiated a prank on Audrey in the first episode) provoking Emma to slap her through her ravings about anyone getting too close to her dying (nice, this girl is), the Guidance Counselor (and Psychology teacher) acting suspiciously after locking Emma in a room so she would be "safe" (the Ghostface killer not only calls her up but shows up at the window of the room, with Emma breaking the window with a chair, no longer just waiting around to be scared), Sheriff Acosta removing Maggie from Jake's case due to her emotional conflict of interest (Emma's mom, hugging Brooke, etc.), Audrey's suspicion of Stavo turning into such a freakout that she shows the Learning Center students his "art gallery" for a comic book that includes bloody pictures of the Lakewood Five resulting in many of the teens attacking him, Brooke revealing to Acosta that she and Jake were romantically involved, Eli willing to help Emma dump Jake's phone, Noah and Zoe finally achieving a dialogue with her admitting to him that she liked his podcast (and his voice), and Noah learning of calls to Audrey, sneaking away her phone when she's not looking, learning of her texts with the Ghostface killer (complete with the camera image of her presence at Jake's body!). 2.5/5
***To really emphasize Brooke's emotional devastation, MTV style drama is included where she sinks into the pool they last saw each other to scream underwater, set to pop music.***
