Jessica Jones - Pray for My Patsy *
The second season of Jessica Jones has Ines just ready to
explode. No matter how much she tried to hold in the bubbling-to-surface rage,
the outburst of violence just seems inevitable. Seeing Ines in New York City is
especially scary in the episode, Pray for My Patsy, as her signs of being quite
unstable are evident. She so badly wants to kill Trish for the loss of her
Karl, having exploded in the building when attempting to “juice” the former child
star/failing radio personality, that intruding on her former show studio leads
to a producer being hurled through a glass door believing the blond was her
target. Trish, meanwhile, recuperates and recovers in the hospital. Because
Trish’s mother just can’t resist the publicity to put a spin on her daughter’s
recovery, Jessica had related that to Detective Condra (Ventimiglia). That
pursuit of Trish is at the heart of “Pray for My Patsy”, with Jessica realizing
with terror that the giveaway of her best friend’s whereabouts will give Alisa
the exact location, with no one capable of stopping her from getting revenge.
Good suspenseful setup. And it further emphasizes that Dorothy (Rebecca De
Mornay) just can’t help herself. The camera crew and television news coverage
is just too alluring. It only put her own daughter in further jeopardy,
encouraging an inevitable showdown between mother and daughter
superpower-equipped “lab experiments”.
