iZombie - The Hurt Stalker ***
Main meat of the case:
Being a Game of Thrones mark, Ravi’s needling Clive cracked
me up…perhaps not a good time considering Clive’s a suspect and curtains for a
suspension.
Regina being a “badge bunny” (turned on by cop duty and the
uniform), as Clive describes her, he tells Liv (with her brain) and Ravi that
she could have taken his gun when he wasn’t home considering how obsessive she
was. Liv speaking in Regina’s voice, so to speak, with Clive is just so rife
with irony.
Oh, and how Liv and Ravi discover that Regina found another man,
due to her wedding plan duties and suing a client, who owns a cleaners with her brother, for unpaid services, thanks
to the whole “officer’s uniform turn on” is just too rich! Sleeping with the client's fiance, fired by the client, then suing the client...truth stranger than fiction!
The package left at
Clive’s was a Regina “special” for all the men she obsesses over: a photoshop “wedding
album” with fake memories and pictures involving her and the guys she had
romantic relations with before being dumped due to her mania.
“Clive, what is
George RR Martin not up to right now?” --Ravi, mischievously.
“Not writing”. --Clive responds angrily.
So more fun facts about Regina: a headlight
around her head, hoodie, and crowbar together allows Liv to break into a
vehicle easily thanks to “stalker brain”. Liv hiding in the Police Chief’s
vehicle, finding a scrapbook, hearing Cavanaugh discuss the “missing evidence”
and being caught by him sure seems to indicate she’s in a hell of a lot of
trouble…especially when in the next scene she’s being escorted to jail in red
jumpsuit. I don’t know if there is a riff in this episode towards Orange is the
New Black but Liv spends time in jail as a fellow prisoner remains vocal and
protestant about her being imprisoned. Liv is fighting the craving but the “stalker
brain effects” leave, with her desperately holding on as long as she can until
she can be released.
A warm conversation with Major helps her mood while Ravi
allows her some peace and quiet with her remaining 8 allowed minutes. The case
takes a major turn when a picture ripped from the photo album to the Chief of
Police unveils a wedding ring on Regina’s finger tying her to Uma, the
bride-to-be she was wedding planning for, sleeping with Uma’s cop fiancé. The
brother, Karl, was the one who accosts Regina, with Uma shooting her only
because of the knife wielded…the circumstances of inflicting fear that got out
of hand. 2.5/5
