iZombie - The Hurt Stalker *

That woman who left behind the packet was named Regina, a wedding planner. In “The Hurt Stalker”, Regina is met with a thug who accosts her, receiving a knife in the leg and slice across the neck before another party shoots her in the back. This next investigation involves Regina’s death. So the opening of this case ties immediately with the conclusion of the previous episode, “Abra Cadaver”. When Clive arrives he is stunned…he used to date Regina! Might explain the package dropped off at Bozzio’s. 


In the episode’s story, Clive is the number one suspect in Regina’s death because his Beretta was used to shoot her and a detective named Cavanaugh (Robert Salvador), eager to receive his “Captain’s bars”, is assigned the case. He’s an opportunist just looking to up his rank. Even worse is a message left by Clive to Regina to leave him or “it won’t end well for you”. Yikes. 


But Ravi realizing Liv might see Clive’s “O-face” and the expression of an angry grunt as Liv prepares to eat Regina’s brains is some much needed humor in a rather intense plot that sure seems to pain Clive in a difficult-to-escape corner. “We don’t know this man…at all! Maybe..he is..the..murderer” Leave it to Ravi to drop those gems. Learning that Regina was a bonafide stalker is obviously disheartening considering Liv will occupy that personality for the episode! And learning that Clive can play the piano, cook, and is a Game of Thrones fan from Bozzio gives us a peek into the private life of a man who is much more than he appears. “Soooo Fatal Attraction brain. That’s gonna be fun.”
