Lost - Homecoming**
Charlie has been rendered quite a conflicted and tormented soul, a recovering junkie almost killed by Ethan while trying (and failing) to protect Claire. Claire returns from wherever she was taken an amnesiac, remembering nothing from the last month. Ethan says he'll kill a member of the plane survivor party each day until Claire is returned to him. Ethan must die. Charlie, with all his guilt and self-regret, was going to make sure he couldn't harm anyone else. Being a victim instead of a hero all the time, watching from afar as others gathered to go out and take care of safety matters, Charlie could no longer stand on the sidelines. Jack, Locke, Sayid, Sawyer, and Kate have guns available thanks to a lockbox case Jack has the only key to. They can serve as a necessary protection if Claire will go into the woods as bait. She does and Ethan is a bit too predictable in emerging to snatch her away. Ethan might wind up out of the picture but he took Claire somewhere. She got away from that somewhere somehow. Why can't she remember a month on the island? Lot of unanswered questions, eh? Claire is eyeballed by others due to Ethan killing one of their own, so with her frustrations at Charlie for concealing the reasoning behind the murder and how it involves her just compounds the drama of it all. She doesn't want to be lied to, she'll speak for herself, and make her own decisions.
In other bits:
Boone volunteers to serve as sentry but falls asleep, Locke proves his handiness with a gun, Sawyer reveals one more gun and allows Kate to have it, Jack actually wants Sawyer's help, Hurley has taken to Jin-Soo despite the language barrier, Jin-Soo and Sun-Hwa comfort each other after Ethan assaulted him, and Claire remembers something of the fake peanut butter much to Charlie's joy.
