Anna (Louisa Krause) is about to serve her client in the episode, "Leverage" |
I must admit, going into the second season of The Girlfriend
Experience I wasn’t exactly sure how I’d write about it. I still don’t quite frankly.
When Anna (Louisa Krause) arrives at a classy hotel with a job to do, I noticed
how she walks with the deliberate, confident, seductive presence. No rush, no sense
of urgency, but on time, Anna holds this fixed expression of professionalism,
never wavering in her absence of anything else beyond a cool resolve. And considering
what high-end client, Mark Novak (Michael Cram) requires of her, that Anna can
remain so reserved and collected, it certainly speaks to how toning out the
ugliness of the trade is an required skill. That is certainly in the writing
and performance of the sex that is involved, revealing what is expected of Anna
(and those of her trade), as it is commissioned by Mark, dismissing her
eventually with little regard after telling her upon their initial
introductions about how addicted he is to her, how (after speaking with his
associates regarding a political candidate they plan to ditch regarding
financial backing) she is an improvement over the disappointments of the day.
She walks into the room, very elegant and aesthetically pleasing to the eye
(both Anna and the room, that is…), while Mark agonizes to his associate about
some politician named Strickland. Not long after he’s pounding her from behind
before jamming his cock in her mouth, asking her (not very politely) to swallow
his semen. Money, regardless of whether
you call yourself Conservative or Liberal (Mark, being conservative, with his
financial aims for someone desiring less EPA or “reining in oil or gas”), gives
those in possession of it particular avarices and attitudes. In the hotel rooms
of D.C. where the likes of Mark can hire out with little concern of the rates
spent there, those involved in big-money politics have the funds necessary for
spending on the very best escorts. In this profession, certain luxuries might be
awarded to an escort like Anna. Despite holding her calm and keeping her cool,
Anna’s repulsion towards Mark might just afford her some sweet revenge. She
might have wetted his dick with her mouth, on command, allowing his hand to
throb her head back and forth on his member, but Anna sees this as a means to
an end: through the desires of a potential new client, Erica (Anna Friel),
needing dirt on Mark as she herself is heavily tied to political power-players,
as strategy in D.C. often involves unscrupulous tactics in order to secure “leverage”,
Anna can record her john when he’s on the phone with his “people” and gain
access to “privileged intel” without him even realizing it. What better revenge
is there than to get such information and provide it to others as blackmail
against Mark? So Anna takes it from behind and sticks it in her mouth, getting
paid both through her sex with Mark and information from him for an
outside-of-the-bedroom client. However, Erica has just recently suffered a
relationship-fail and Anna fucks clients for a living…and perhaps through this “partnership”
something far more might come out of it.
