Lost - Exodus [Dark Territory]

Rousseau tells of a bad place in the jungle. One of her crew lost their arm, and this is where the infection that spread and killed them was encountered. Through her guidance, Jack, Locke, Hurley, and Kate follow Rousseau into this Dark Territory to locate and confiscate dynamite. Dynamite is a precious weaponry to defend themselves against an enemy not yet seen except through one infiltrating spy. Daniel Roebuck sure just kind of starts talking and inserting himself into situations when he'd been silent and not present for a majority of the first season. Of course the character was created late in the season and Roebuck hired to play him but it does sure come out of nowhere. His Artz (often pronounced incorrectly Arntz) claims to be a science teacher with knowledge that can be of service, as if he's some know-it-all, but after some back story about the perils of this Dark Territory, he's heading back to the beach!

The Black Rock is a story arc seed planted through the Rousseau character and so its obvious importance is understood to be significant. The right time, right episode, would yield us the crop. It would rattle our cage. It sure did me! It's a freakin' ship! Really cool. Just deep within the jungle, resting in undergrowth and at a place it doesn't seem to belong, The Black Rock lies idle and unused. Why is it here and how the hell did it find its rest inside the jungle???

The black smoke funnels towards the sky as a warning sign of trouble. It is a call to arms, a siren of doom in its vision in black reaching high and indicating proudly that trouble appears to be at a distance, soon to emerge from the jungle to reap it's harvest. Those from the Oceanic must prepare for the worst, so says Rousseau.
