Santa Clarita Diet - We Can Kill People
Joel tries to come to terms with killing people with his wife so she can eat. The episode has gold dialogue in regards to Joel and Sheila's plans to find the worst kind of human, with their mothers even coming up in conversation. A pot dealing twenty-something who dates teenagers, dumping Abby's friend when Abby chats her up while ditching school again with Eric, seems to be the perfect candidate but Joel ends up bonding with him while smoking some weed at a listing sitting at the end of a street because of its high asking price. Eventually some strip club/waste management company owner with a foul mouth and attitude is hit in the back of his Porsche by Joel, as a very hungry Sheila pounces. A freezer in a rented storage unit will be this guy's resting place as Sheila can feed from him for some time. Joel puns a lot about dead bodies in freezers, not looking suspicious when buying body cleanup supplies in bulk, selection processes, and his wrecked life. He loves Sheila, and that can't be debated. When it comes to her hunger, even kindly cop, Rick, tending to his plants, is mentioned as potential food, while Joel has to be the reasonable one. Abby gets even for her friend by setting off a gas bomb in the drug dealer's home, gas mask on, getting her sweater back. Eric follows along, so loyal to her and crushing obviously and awkwardly so. He is compliant and tries to appeal to Abby and her school chum's charms...they often look at him cluelessly. And Dan continues to remain suspicious of Joel and Sheila...could the deputy sheriff be on the list for Sheila's freezer chow? 2.5/5
