Game of Thrones - End of the Second Season**

The Prince of Winterfell
Blackwater

Valar Morghulis

With Xaro and Pyat not taking Daenerys seriously, incurring her wrath, Jon Snow forced by Halfhand (also kidnapped by the skull-masked, fur-clothed wildings) to kill him in order to spare himself while also enduring Ygritte's sexual mockery, and Robb falling in love with his field nurse which defies his mother's oath to marry into the Freys; there are plenty of other ongoing subplots trying to reach from behind the shadows of the Lannister grasp of power of the Iron Throne and Westeros. Daenerys showing Pyat just the kind of magic she herself wields through her young dragons and their fire and her stone-cold back turn as Xaro and his mistress, begging to be spared, as they are closed in his empty tomb (no gold or precious jewels, Xaro was a con, a lie) reveals she's no pushover, and to cross her is to your own peril. Jon steels himself and withstands Ygritte's insults and provocation, nearly killed except she talks them out of it. Ygritte believes he might be useful and he did spare her life so it makes sense she might feel obligated to help him somewhat. Mance Rayder has yet to be seen but the second season sure mentions him a lot...with all the build up he had to be cast well. Despite Pyat's efforts to use the illusion of Khal Drogo and her son are alive and well or chains and shackles on her arms, Daenerys had her dragons. And after she withstood all against her, Daenerys and Jorah Mormont, along with her surviving followers, take the plates and surrounding items not nailed down from Xaro's home. Robb might be disappointed in his mother for sending Jaime away with Brienne but he is able to forgive. He still wants his revenge for the fall of Winterfell. This sofar is the least of the subplots to me. While often doing well against Tywin, Robb has become lost within the more extravagant subplots making up the series at this point.

Theon, considering his legacy, fails to realize that his men could care less about dying nobly or honorably. Bop on the head, stabbing Maester Luwin with a spear just for speaking up, Dagmer, an Iron Island thug who was bored of his stay at Winterfell, with no interest in contending with the men under the bastard son of Roose Bolton, and the skeleton crew who "sacked" Winterfell, drag their leader away. Luwin, dying from the torso wound, request Osha's assistance in ending his suffering, speaking one last time to the Stark boys with great tenderness and affection. The evil in Westeros cannot be understated. The good and bad alike are potential victims.
