Game of Thrones - The Climb *

I had actually submitted this to my IMDb account and it was rejected. It did go on quite too long. Part of the problem is so much to cover which is why I tried to cut them into review sections. I haven't found a way to discipline myself...

Well, first addressing the title. Jon Snow and Y'gritte follow Giantsbane up the Wall in quite a perilous, laborious climb, facing breaking ice and avalanche. Y'gritte doesn't much care about who Jon is allegiant towards as long as he is to her. And they share a kiss once they reach the top. It is a bit of romance to take the sting off a weeping Sansa watching Littlefinger's ship sail away after learning she is to be wed to Tyrion, who is clearly apologetically aware of how unexpected and unfortunate it is. Shae being there when he had to reluctantly and awkwardly explain was the icing on the cake.

Samwell reveals being a highborn to Gilly as the two share a fire in the woods away from Caster's Keep. She insists he sings to her as his family often does. Samwell continues to be a hug within the cesspool of misery and indecency. Gendry, with all the intentions of joining the Brotherhood without Banners, is chosen (due to being Robert's bastard) by Melisandre as an important piece for Stannis to use so he's taken away, as Beric and Thoros receive gold in exchange. And Arya obviously has a lot to say about Gendry being given away for gold, not taking her eyes of Melisandre, making sure to voice her displeasure. This meeting between Melisandre and Arya sure is a big deal, you'd think. When Melisandre tells Arya what she sees in her eyes and says they'll meet again, I think it should be considered quite important. I reckon many do. Arya learning how to crossbow, too, along with what she's gained through her training with the Needle; the show, through her experiences, pig-headedness and willingness to speak her mind, has survived and will continue.

We are headed towards the Red Wedding as the House Frey demand that they receive Harrenhal (and its surrounding grounds) and Blackfish's son, Edmure's agreement to marry Walder's daughter since Robb broke his arrangement made by Cat. And Melisandre gets to see her Lord's work by scanning the altered body of Beric Dondarrion. So the episode, although considered lesser than others in the season, has plenty of importance.
