Jessica Jones - I Wish

Sallinger gets even with Erik for throwing Jessica Jones on his scent. By doing so, he applies a chokehold while awaiting Erik in his office. Prior to that Jessica had help from Trish, for whom Sallinger wasn't familiar. So while Sallinger has all eyes on Jessica, following her, keeping an eye on her, Trish could sneak into his apartment, take shots on her camera of photographs taken by the serial killer as trophies. Eventually their investigation leads to a train yard where one of the cars holds body parts of Sallinger's victims, as the two ladies followed him there. While Trish goes on the offensive, Jessica is trapped in the car with the body parts, having triggered a trap that closed a door (locking it) while a gas is gradually killing her. In this case, Jessica's powerful strength is neutralized so as she weakens and her punches fail to penetrate the metal of the car. Sallinger realizes Trish is stronger and more versatile and athletic than him so he capitalizes on her love for Jessica, knowing he will be able to get away as she rushes to her friend's rescue.

Erik has a sister who works a certain street corner and resists his attempts to help her. Jessica tries to get Malcolm to watch over her (for her own safety since Sallinger threatens to hurt Erik's sister because of his blackmail), but the pimp potshots him when his back is turned.

"I Wish", though, really emphasizes Jeri Hogarth's information collected by Malcolm on her ex lover's husband, including the women and taking money from a charity. Kith's husband, however, is implicated by Trish while Malcolm deletes everything...Jeri is called out by Kith's husband when he arrives looking for Kith to forgive him. Jeri telling him he might get off in six years and that Kith will never go back to him didn't help herself at all. In fact, before he kills himself in his bathtub, Kith's husband brings up how she is responsible for representing "super criminals" and engaging in nefarious, destructive behavior. His video goes out into the public right before he dies begging for his wife's forgiveness and in memory of his daughter. To say Jeri's firm takes a serious hit is an understatement. Kith refuses to talk to Jeri and Malcolm hides out for a while as his girlfriend (who works at Jeri's firm) calls him about how their firm's reputation is collapsing and clients are dropping them. Yep, Trish sure leaves behind some wreckage. Jessica coming up as working for Jeri doesn't help. To get Kith, Jeri not only loses her but even her professional career has taken a serious hit. And Jeri's health will only deteriorate.

This episode with all that drama finally has Jessica and Trish discussing the elephant in the room...the death of Jessica's mom and how Trish was responsible. Trish saving her at the end, the two working together, Jessica just asking for help; baby steps towards some sort of reconciliation. But despite actually talking it out, discussing regrets--Trish feels guilty for killing Jessica's mom and Jessica just wishes her mom hadn't been a psycho killer--and eventually finding common ground, there is that feeling tragedy is still on the horizon.

Sallinger having subdued Erik and nearly killed Jessica, this guy has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
