If you grew up with HBO in the 80s, this iconic intro to films got the anticipation pumping for just about any film. I'm currently watching "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" (1985) and I am quite sure this intro kicked off one, two, probably three viewings when I was a kid. "The Road Warrior" was a film I caught later in the mid 90s when visiting my grandmother's house, retreating to my uncle's room where he had HBO 2 or some other additional package HBO channel. That blew my mind back then. The idea that there could be multiple channels of HBO. This was probably 1994 or 1995, I guess. Maybe a bit earlier. My uncle had one of those massive satellites, too...big dish. I couldn't wrap my head around multiple movie channels. But this HBO intro was the bees knees. This is why I like to circle back (a phrase used plenty these days) and wade in that pool of nostalgia.
