Trip to the Video Store: Found (2012)

For me, add an "s" at the end of Video for the ole Scarecrow

One man's dump is another man's haven

That moment when the choir strikes up.

Decisions. Decisions.

Can't get just one.

Hmmm.. I think I see a third one sticking out there.

Not old enough, but perhaps a peek?

This video getting some "star treatment" for a reason

Sadly, the movie isn't in the box; a common occurrence for the rental rat.

This was a very interesting scene. See, for me as a teenager, this was nirvana. It wasn't as much a rush, as I scanned the shelves, eyed the boxes, read the backs (with descriptions which read like the opening of Dark City: Too. Much. Information.), and just generally took my time. For some people, they like to stand and gaze at paintings in a gallery. That is their happy place. For me, it was in a rental store, hoping to watch that next gem. The film, however, struck me with this scene as if it was something dirty to see the rental of horror movies. Maybe so for a kid his age. I dunno, the score almost applied a melancholy to this scene. It did come about due to the kid being "rewarded" for being bullied by Marcus by getting to "stay home and watch movies". I have to admit: I would be pretty happy with mom if she had did this for me. I didn't share the bullying I endured with her; I fought through it. Sometimes, admittedly, I fought back with fists (and something suffered for it initially, but they did leave me alone once I did), but not allowing it all to consume me into adulthood was quite beneficial to me. But, I think the point of emphasis was that instead of "mom and child" time, she took him to the rental store, allowed him to just pick out whatever, and took him home, letting the kid lose himself in the horror. Perhaps, this is a way of saying that instead of taking the kid to a rental store, she should invest more in him. Maybe I'm reading too much into this? haha.
