Jason's always on the mind: Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
I think, looking over the series as a whole, there are good performances among the films. To me, perhaps the best is John Shepherd as the tormented, practically mute Tommy Jarvis, a young man who simply cannot escape Jason Voorhees no matter how hard he tries. I think the "tortured soul" approach by Shepherd solidly conveys what Jason has done to him. Jason has taken everything from him.
Tommy, the character would return in the next film, somewhat rehabilitated compared to the end of this film which seems to indicate that someone new would be replacing Jason as the Crystal Lake psychopath.
