Berberian Sound Studio: Discardings
Silvia (Fatma Mohamed) gives her primal scream after enduring director Giancarlo Santini's (Antonio Mancino) sexual advances and objectification.
The moment where reality and fantasy merge...I think.
Gilderoy been naughty?
I do think this film appeals to me also as an ode to filmmaking. Or perhaps it is a dark statement about the industry. I guess that is a question you might ask yourself by film's end. It seems that the process itself and all the unpleasantries that come with making a film (the idea that the producer might guilt Gilderoy into embracing the art of the process instead of the financial aspect; this doesn't fly as it is obvious he just wants to save a buck if he can). Certainly, with the producer, Francesco Coraggio (Cosimo Fusco), and his assertive approach behind getting the film done (which is rather blunt force and even cold more times than not) perhaps aids in Gilderoy's descent.
