SYFY TZ Marathon - A World of His Own
Not sure "A World of His Own" gets over as well as it might have back in the first season upon its making and release. I gave it 8/10 I noticed on the IMDb, but after this evening's viewing, I think I was more won over by its clever twist at the end with Rod Serling being "deleted" (for lack of a different term) by writer Keenan Wynn, whose concocted characters dictated to tape became so real to him they actually manifest from imagination to human form. If Wynn chooses to, he can get rid of those human characters he creates by tossing the tape he speaks into existence by way of dictation recorder (Rod did this as a writer) into a fire in his office fireplace. You rarely see Wynn so at ease, without much care in the world. He's just chill. He is often associated with characters who raise their voice, get stressed out or particularly angered into an outburst, or are roughly hewn. I could just feel the seething that might be conjured by scenes like when Mary Larouche is created by Wynn just to see to his wants and desires while Phyllis Kirk, his "wife" arrives ready to divorce him. Wynn spends the episode trying to convince Kirk that Mary is but a figment of his imagination given form. While she does see it for herself, Kirk seems bound and determined to be rid of Wynn....much to her own detriment. Mary handing Wynn a martini with an "Anything for you Master" response perhaps doesn't come off the screen as well in 2020...unless you are a willing sub in a consensual relationship with a dom. In Wynn's case, he gave life to Mary and Phyllis and instead of allowing them free will, he instead made sure their lives revolved around him.
