iZombie - Spanking the Zombie
Liv with "dominatrix brain"? Sign me up! I need my punishment, Liv. I've been a bad boy. Okay, enough of that. Yes, a dominatrix who was very popular, considering a politician, news anchor, and attorney all were clients, was killed. Liv will eat her brain after Ravi soaks it in blue liquid Ravi has perfected that allows for visions to last much longer. It seems the dominatrix recorded all her sessions and whoever murdered her has the footage and is using that to blackmail. Eventually Clive and Liv get the guy once he goes for some money being held in a sack by Johnny Frost (Daran Norris). The investigation is just a whole lot of nothing. This is all about McIver in a very seductive, sexy, ultra-aggressive, commanding dom persona ordering men (like a sketch artist for the police, the suspects, even swinging a whip to get Clive's attention) around in a demanding manner that certainly aroused me, if I'm honestly forthcoming. It is just the kind of personality that commands attention...and perhaps an erection. Anyway, the story arc of Major Lilywhite needing the human serum in order to survive, even though the memory serum for Blaine didn't work concluding that Major would forget about everything once he was injected by Ravi, continues in this episode. Once again, Major and Liv kiss, eventually making love. So Major accepts that his memory would be gone even as the melancholy of that decision isn't avoidable. McIver, despite all the dominatrix fun, gets serious at the end and her Liv shows great concern and grief at "losing" Major even as his life will be saved...not before wounds sustained while helping Filmore-Graves take out terrorists need to be healed. The trips Liv takes with the "blue brain", her expressions as she experiences the dominatrix and client activity, and the length offer the chance for Clive to bring up a "Game of Thrones" reference...cool. Filmore-Graves' Vivian Stoll conducts an interview from Harley Johns (Andrew Caldwell), the brother of a victim who worked at Max Rager, previously questioned by Clive and Liv in the previous episode. Harley knows a lot about zombies, and Stoll knows he must be under surveillance. He's a serious threat as a network of zombie hunters seem to be responsible for the murder of Wally and his family. 5/5
If this was rated based just on the case, the episode is barely average, but McIver in full dominatrix mode...irresistible.
