There has to come that point when as a seriously trained actor who put a lot of time and effort to hone his craft wonders to himself, "How did I get here?" Arye Gross has to explain to his music producer girlfriend (Lar Park-Lincoln) in Ethan Wiley's cult oddity, House II: The Second Story (1987), that he and party-hearty pal, Charlie (Jonathan Stark) dug up a grave, found a crystal skull of the Aztecs with special diamonds in their eyes, were introduced to 170 year old ancestor, now a rotted corpse with full white beard and jovual personality in the form of Royal Dano ( who uses phrases like "high falootin'" and "hootin tootin varmint"), and own a home with a pterodactyl that comes from another dimension in one of the rooms. Absurd as it sounds, yet so painfully true within this strange little nugget from the late 80s, a pompous jerk played by Bill Maher looking to steal Park-Lincoln away from Gross has the last laugh, it seems. Amy Yasbeck, as a Madonna wannabe, slaps Charlie after Park-Lincoln does the same to Gross' Jesse, ending their relationships while Maher happily leaves quite proud of himself. Gross then flings open a cabinet door to announce the aforementioned pterodactyl. After his correct revelations about all that transpired, Jesse had flung open the door to a kitchen closet to show an old flame (played by a cute Jayne Modean) drunk in a Halloween maid costume. That is what Lar Park-Lincoln's viewpoint is: some crazy rantings followed by suspicious looking betrayal. Maher gladly assists in Jesse's failure. This movie just goes gung-ho with its zany offerings.
