The Howling IV: The Original Nightmare**
I think you could tell John Hough or Clive Turner, whichever one actually gave us the product available, had just so much money and it mostly went to Johnson's effects team for the finale. I'll always be a sucker for a nasty body melt and Michael Weiss' transformation into a puddle of goo delivers the goods! Still, as I do like Romy Windsor, who equips herself well despite nothing much happening for an hour except her having visions and dealing with a boring Weiss who treats her like an annoyance unless her male friend comes around, then he wants to establish their marriage stips. Oh but Weiss can go fuck the art supply store sexpot with no guilt at all. I think the film is all about that final fifteen or so minutes. And I rather liked the song, Something Evil. But for an hour, no werewolf at all. I wish Johnson could have spread out the werewolves throughout the film. Sigh, low budget productions give you the bare minimum. I just thought as it was ending, "If that ten minutes were a bit longer, I could have liked this more." Tubi really has an impressive horror selection! A ton of 80s horror and cult selections.
