Watching Edge of the Axe (1988) with daughter
Yes, I just turned to Slashics on Shudder and, as I've come to expect, Edge of the Axe was on yet again. Again. I've watched this in parts, different points, and all, probably six or so times. My daughter was in the living room and wanted to watch it. I prepared her for the ax murders. This film really isn't gratuitous except for the murders. We were watching it and besides the violence there is no nudity and very little, if any, profanity. And for the most part, besides some adultery and hanky panky by Big Bear's rural denizens, the worst character is a sheriff wanting the murders to be kept hush-hush, even telling the coroner to sew the first victim up and bury her while convincing a train conductor the second victim, who was very chopped up, that she got drunk and fell in the middle of tracks, killed by a locomotive. My daughter, it must be said, was rather engrossed. But, I am really done with this slasher. No, seriously, that's it.
One thing we both noticed: lots of Coca-Cola Classic.
