Dark Shadows - Little Ghost Girl Lost

This face is quite the norm. Lots of cell time for Maggie

Willie explains why he's Barnabas' mutt.

Sarah, a girl ghost from "a long, long, long, long time ago" (says David, for whom she meets and somewhat befriends), seems to have been introduced to further drive Maggie nuts. It isn't until the end of the episode (#256) that Sarah finally talks to Maggie, telling her "don't let big brother know I'm down here, he doesn't like when anyone comes down here" (okay, I'm probably paraphrasing, but it's close enough). So Sarah does find David (finally being given something to do besides remain a background character you never see or hear from) swinging near the Old House--because no matter how many times he's told to stay away, David keeps returning--and returns to her same song, "London Bridges" with that ball. I'm already sick of hearing the damn song as much as David. Anyway, he returns home as Sarah goes to find her parents--this character, appearing out of the blue, has so far been less than extraordinary (she looks off camera plentifully to get her lines and you can even see David whispering some of the dialogue to her)--telling Victoria about the little girl he played with. Willie visits Maggie, realizing she's not eating, noticing how she is on the floor, agonizing and just emotionally rent. Willie seems sympathetic and explains to her that he would love to kill Barnabas, to just leave Collinsport and travel 1000 miles. But Willie is totally under the control of Barnabas, too overpowered to stop him. I guess that sort of muzzles someone like me who is always very critical of Willie's character...nah, I'll probably still take him to task for being a wimp, because it's fun. This episode more or less continues to show Maggie suffer...at least she still looks stunning (I mean, Kathryn Leigh Scott is a beautiful woman, and camera closeups love her, even when she sulks or is in dire straits), but, man, it is starting to really get depressing. There is only so much of Maggie stuck in a cell, you know...they are reallllllly dragging this out. I felt they introduced Sarah if just to add something to Maggie being kidnapped and Barnabas keeping her alive, hoping she gets her act together and submits. Willie will just always be around as a sadsack reminder of what submission looks like...why wouldn't Maggie want that? 4/5

***Oh, Caroline is in the episode for a dialogue scene with Victoria, regarding upcoming nuptials and her mom marrying Jason is brought up to sort of keep that story arc alive. She also sees David with the little brat mimicking that "cool motorcycle".***
