Jessica Jones - Take a Bloody Number

The next-to first season finale comes to its close and I'm excited about the foreseeable future. With Luke given some rub at the end, too, as Kilgrave looks to expand his mind control's reach, Jessica definitely needs to usurp his diabolical plans. As any lecherous villain, Kilgrave seeks to have no kibosh on what he can and cannot do. Jessica cannot have that, because when a victim falls on garden shears in a park in front of a crowd without Kilgrave anywhere near, it is a scary wake-up call. But with Kilgrave dictating Luke's moves, he can use him as a weapon against Jessica, with her having no choice but to defend herself, even using whatever weapon she might need...including shotgun to face!
Take a Bloody Number piles up
the folks that want Kilgrave dead, adding Luke Cage to the list. Kilgrave makes
sure Luke pays for not only confronting him with plans to kill him but for
bedding his obsession, Jessica Jones. Luke blowing up his bar, Kilgrave telling
him to be inside there as it goes KABOOM, assures Jessica that her adversary
must be caught and annihilated or his path of destruction could continue to
leave behind a plethora of victims. He’s a heck of an ally for Jessica to have
in order to kill Kilgrave…as long as he doesn’t get to close to him (or is
noticed by him).
The show gives us some ties between Will and Jessica to IGH,
responsible for creating human experimental weapons of superior strength and
ability. Trish’s mom is trying to get back into her daughter’s good graces,
taking advantage of Jessica’s absence, bringing to her an IGH file that has
Jessica’s name all over it. It is a ploy, a slick attempt to capitalize on her
fame in the city. Meanwhile Jessica and Luke await Kilgrave’s presence at a lab
which produces a chemical drug (with vials of it in Kilgrave’s father’s
apartment) he’s interested in. The drug’s success appears to be of significant
importance to Kilgrave.
If anything the episode is important because it realigns
Luke and Jessica, allows them to come to terms with what Kilgrave did to *both*
of them, and find common ground, tensions between them finally relaxed. The two
of them must find Kilgrave because if he can perfect his brain power to the
point that he can project his will to people from any distance, at any area of
his choosing, no limits and complete authority to command victims to do his
bidding, the results could be catastrophic.
