I had a fun dialogue with a young lady I work with about the rather hilarious scenes particularly in romantic comedies and action genre where two characters will give in to their baser lusts and embrace in kiss, eventually ripping at each other's clothes, before the camera cuts away. Battlestar Galactica, in the first part of the 2004 miniseries, does that multiple times. Number Six and Baltar, Chief Galen Tyrol (Aaron Douglas) and Lt Valerii, they expediently going at it with gusto, laying on the sloppy kissing while tearing buttons or ripping open zippers. Tyrol takes pride in his Vipers maintaining proper maintenance and repair even as pilots like Lt. Valerii believe otherwise, balking about how his ships aren't up to speed and suffer malfunctions. Bickering and angst leads to a room away from other officers and eventually sex. Nothing like being told your work is less than satisfactory or that the work is perfectly fine despite contrary opinion to stir up sexual cravings and the next to fuck immediately.
Tyrol refusing to believe his crew's work on the Vipers is the problem could be a hazard in the future as the cylons emerge to challenge the BG. Just Valerii's own qualms with certain functionality issues and Tyrol's stubborn disregard for such pilot concern could foreshadow eventual troubles ahead
