Jessica Jones - You're a Winner
*** / ****
I love how Jessica Jones has so many eggs in her basket yet continues to try and juggle all of these ongoing threads keeping her quite busy. Luke Cage isn't just out of her life despite the secret of her forced murder of his wife; and, quite frankly, she clearly doesn't truly want him free and clear. Wanting her to find Antoine, a gambling acquaintance who owes money to thugs, puts them together on a Harley, with her cuffing her fingers around him. She desires him, and recovering junkie buddy Malcolm notices it, warning Luke not to hurt her. Hope, the found Kilgrave victim who was forced by him to murder her parents, actually paid Sissy to pummel her in the prison bed because she's pregnant! One can't really blame her for fearing what could be born from a monster like Kilgrave. Then there is Kilgrave, quieting an entire cafe and winning a cool million in a card game using a terrible hand against heavy hitters, at his old tricks, receiving photo texts from Jessica as a tease. Trying to convince Jeri to continue representing Hope (and avoid the secretary/lover Pam situation) and avoiding the antics of sibling weirdos in her apartment, it all can bring its share of complications.
