iZombie - My Really Fair Lady

**½ / ****
My Really Fair Lady finally moves Rose into a dangerous path opposing zombie-enforcement, Fillmore-Graves, assuming the role of Mama Leone, who was executed for her underground movement, helping those sick and infirm by scratching them (turning them zombie in the process but keeping them from death). The few who participated closely with Leone feel her demise has once and for all concluded her work, but Rose is willing to risk it because she believed in the movement. Levon, who documents their actions with his camera, assures Rose that her work could put her in the crosshairs of Graves, but when a human-smuggling operation (five sick folks in a cargo carrier) is successful, seeing the results of her scratch-and-turn (including a mother reuniting with her child and husband, not to mention, an oxygen-tank dying man throwing off the help after being turned zombie), the danger is worth it. But in taking over for Leone, Levon gives her a 300-candidate list, and Rose must choose three worthy of being rescued from eventual death. Heavy is the head that wears the charity-giving scratch.

In this episode, Rose takes a bite from the brains of a performance artist who often directed and acted in stage plays for the theater, the victim dying in that horrific bus accident where the driver went to eating from the human passengers involved! Rose instigating and initiating performances out of those in need of direction (like in the police department, where she coerces an uncomfortable reporter Johnny Frost into engaging her emotionally when she makes fake sexual advances he’s not in favor of after questioning the law enforcement regarding open relationships, giving Clive serious anxiety), including Leone’s Underground crew provides some amusement. The sheer enthusiasm in the work brings out the personality of the music theater director personality in Rose. Rose even goes into a role of a dumped New Zealander needing to preoccupy a security guard so Levon and company could smuggle in the sick needing to be turned zombie. The Ravi subplot where he eats the brains of a heroin junkie in order to find the dog the victim stole from his ex I did think was a bit over the top and in bad taste, but iZombie isn’t afraid to go there when the opportunity arises…and this serves primarily to move Ravi and Peyton back together because of his willingness to bring harm upon himself in order to help her. And Blaine once again faces off with his Prophet father, realizing that he’s got trouble considering the growing following now behind him…agreeing to give them brains for one lunch a week and being told he’s forgiven by this cretin who was far from a paternal figure in his life sends Blaine in a rage to no avail.

I failed to mention that the fourth season continues Clive's inner struggle in regards to his boss/lover (who is a zombie he can't have sex with) and attempting an open sexual relationship. A young cop is interested in him but she wants commitment not fuck buddy status.
