iZombie - Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Brain
Liv eats the brains of a poisoned pickup artist with little
subtlety. But because the dead guy was good in bed at giving the ladies
orgasms, whatever he says, no matter how insensitive and crude, often didn’t
matter. So Liv remains repugnant, assertive and approaching guys with intent to
“bone” if they were willing! Again, this is one of those personalities quite
off-putting and often “douche”, so Liv isn’t particularly likable or easy to
stomach due to the victim’s focus on sex, with tunnel vision aimed to bed.
Meanwhile, Fillmore Graves shut down a newspaper claiming Mama Leone was a
martyr, with Major Lilywhite becoming a stern and dedicated advocate for his
leader, Chase Graves. Major even leads the charge, firing upon equipment owned
by the paper, using their weaponry and orders to force them out of the
building, leaving behind all their work. Major has become a cipher on this
show, blindly loyal to Chase and gradually dismissing the very qualities that
once made him so personable and admirable. Chase believes that there aren’t
enough brains to feed the zombies in Seattle and Leone was only contributing to
the ever-increasing problem making his job all the more difficult. Major
supports him in that regard, using their arsenal and enforcing their command so
that further zombie growth will cease. And Major is involved in uncovering the
black market sale of brains stolen from their organization by focusing on Roche,
as Chase considers him a likely suspect. Despite the personality she’s up
against, Liv still has enough wherewithal to snatch badges from a printing
center while with Clive for humans smuggled in the city. With Bozzio seemingly
exploiting the open relationship with Clive, she relates to him that all she
has done is make out and flirt with other guys, not have sex…unlike Clive who
eventually does have sex with an escort he initially met at Blaine’s bar. So
Clive was incorrect in his assumptions as Bozzio has indeed been loyal to him without
satiating sexual desire. Ravi and Peyton appear to be an item, and they do try
to help Clive get out there in the dating scene so that he wouldn’t be the odd
partner out in regards to sexual contact (at the time not knowing Bozzio wasn’t
active). Blaine wasn’t at all involved in this episode but Liv and Levon do
visit Angus’ church, looking to uncover where they get their brains from.
Meanwhile Blaine’s partner-in-crime, Don E goes after Dino for his unearthing
Angus from the well, lopping off his head (trying to carry on a conversation
with him when he puts Dino’s head on the bar of the establishment!) with an
axe! Peyton catching Liv fixing up id badges on her computer sets in motion the
next episode where her role as a replacement for Mama Leone is certain to get
some blowback. But considering how Major has alternated to Chase’s side, this
move by Liv will definitely result in conflict! I admit that the series appears to be growing tired as I just don't enjoy the show in the fourth season as I have in the past with the first (and start of the second) season. I hope it does get better. But I'm significantly opposed to Major, now, and the personalities Liv has occupied lately have left much to be desired, few entertaining as much as a turn-off.
