Watching the Raw/Smackdown Draft tonight left this Cesaro fan quite disheartened. This amazing talent, with such a work rate and ethic was put out there to lose to Chris Jericho who at this point in his career should be doing the job regularly. I had high hopes that Smackdown would be the fresh, young, hip alternative to Vince and Stephanie McMahon's old mainstay, WWE Raw. How wrong could I have been. The early picks of John Cena and Randy Orton left this sinking feeling that reached the pit of my stomach only slightly alleviated by the picks of my favorite female WWE wrestler, Becky Lynch and the dynamic duo of American Alpha. Dean Ambrose as the top Smackdown pick had to ultimately leave him utterly devastated no matter his jubilation. When you are on the same brand as glory hounds, Cena and Orton--not to mention, Bray Wyatt, who is certain to get a major push--the idea Ambrose will get the same push as his Shield counterparts drafted to Smackdown is unlikely. Seth Rollins jobbed to Dean on Smackdown tonight, which was a satisfying moment, but I doubt this will be the norm.

But back to Cesaro. Here is a thoroughbred with quite an arsenal. His unbelievable power and agility, and his limitless long-distance gas tank, should have drawn Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon's affection. Bryan used to talk glowingly about back stage conversation with Cesaro about all things wrestling. On Raw, Cesaro will not get a push at all. He'll continue to be buried whereas on Smackdown when Cena and Orton were either away due to injury, old age rest, or WWE junkets Cesaro could perhaps grab that brass ring. Zayn, Owens, Neville, and Finn Balor all were drafted to Raw. There's nothing to indicate Cesaro will be allowed to break from this pack and thrive. Hell, when is the last time he won a match? AJ Styles lost The Club, but with Balor on Raw there will be another trio to fear. He would be one of few that would stand in Cesaro's way. There is nothing that convinces me Cesaro will escape the confines of writers' disinterest. He couldn't have been happy to remain in the cellar dwelling in banishment. He'll get tossed out there to lose to Big Show and Jericho, two of many who should be showcasing this unique and unappreciated athlete. It is a shame.

I have noticed sentiment is shared by other like-minded fans. Many are crying aloud: push Cesaro dammit!
