I must admit that fatigue has started to set in a bit, watching a slasher and writing a detailed blog entry about each movie, every night this week, is starting to kind of wear me down, but it has been fun. I have been trying to determine which slasher would conclude my "End of Summer Horror" series and I have settled on two--Graduation Day (1980) and Sweet 16 (with Bo Hopkins). Both are as low budget as you can get, with far different directions within the slasher genre. Neither really knocked my socks off, but I gave the latter a slight edge because of the cast and their characters are a bit more likable. Graduation Day, however, has early Quigley at her kittenish best before she had fully developed into a sexpot. Speaking of Quigley, I had considered, as my next gimmick series, the "A Little Quigley Goes a Long Way", a series I consider a proper send off to a summer after watching a slew of slasher flicks. Of course, my idea of what to watch consists of movies containing the "Ladies of Scream", stuff like Slimeball Bowl-a-Rama, Nightmare Sisters, and Creepozoids. I'm not sure I would want to endure Witchtrap again, but you never know. I wish I had some newer Quigley, but a lot of her low budget stuff later on in her career seem to remain in obscurity. Some shit like Wolfsbayne or The Naked Monster.
