Halloween Hootenanny 2019 - Halloween*
The below is just a brief snippet of the bedroom. No fancy shot or any shit like that. I finished the first two Evil Dead movies and no real plans for the evening. I am still recovering from my second Pfizer vaccine shot because it really kicked my ass so I have just now reached a point where I can walk upright without feeling as if my body isn't begging and pleading with me to park myself in bed for another 24 hours.
I'm so happy Shudder still has the complete 2019 Halloween Hootenanny trio, since I really wanted to see Joe Bob Briggs hosting the 1978 Carpenter film before October. Not during October, but before the month. I don't know why this was a specific desire. Nonetheless, with the eventual release of Halloween Kills, I was mulling over another watch of the David Gordon Green 2018 Halloween. That film was just the year before this Joe Bob's Last Drive-In, so I was tossing around when to watch his presentation of the 1978 film.
Joe Bob talks of his set decor needing to be Day of the Dead in nature, while showing pictures of cosplaying fans imitating Michael Myers. Credit to JB for doing his best to provide details of the film perhaps not so well known. He does seem to get some fun history of Pleasance with his Caretaker role in a Pinter play being a favorite of his, and mentioning the six children Pleasance worked a lot to provide for which often explained just why he would take a lot of parts others might or did turn down.
