iZombie - Zombie Knows Best

Seeing Major on 15 year old ice skating hopeful brain is the bees bees. Buckley speaking teen girl is just too good. Not finishing iZombie since the country went to hell as Seattle and Washington State seem well on their way towards a no-police state makes for very fascinating viewing. There is one moment where Clive uncomfortably watches Liv prepare a chili dog meal with the fifteen year old's strict father's brains as Ravi looks over at him and says, "The New Normal". I wonder how the CHAZ/CHOP would have faired against the zombies. I almost believe they'd fit right in. Maybe Blaine could have become their leader. Blaine sure was clever enough to outwit the current mayor I imagine.

While Cavanaugh investigates the death of little Wally and his murdered family, seemingly on a course for checking out Filmore/Graves, pondering why a military contractor would be interested in Max Rager energy drink (the adult victim worked for F/G and had a Supermax drink in his pocket); Clive joins Liv and Ravi in investigating the hit and run of a father and daughter, suffering a serious, seemingly purposeful crash. Clive is reeling from Wally's death, having bonded with the kid because they were neighbors. But he knew Wally was a zombie so he has to mourn inside and avoid releasing this knowledge to Cavanaugh.

The investigation into who killed Stan and Cindy Chen (Raugi Yu and Celina Martin), soon involving Cindy's blond teen friend, Winslow (Natalie Lind), Winslow's stepfather, Ken (Stephen Huszar), and Winslow's mom, Tori (Sally Pressman) gets closure a little early, but this particular story isn't all that shocking as it is salacious...a teen seducing her stepdad and a spy app informing the mom knows wraps it up with not a lot of surprise. This is more about Major as an eye rolling youth just scoffing and not having non of parental, ordering "pops" Liv. Liv with motivational encouragement to Ravi, avoiding Paige and angry at Blaine, using "sport" with this fatherly personality is a pip. But Major as this highly emotional teen girl personality wondering if Ravi is his best friend and worried about his figure is a gift that keeps on giving.

The back story of Wally's mom and Clive getting close to romantic and Wally being responsible for Clive's Game of Thrones obsession are neat revelations, but the tragic understanding that they would be killed by zombie hunters using a message board as a tool to locate them leave this melancholic aftertaste.

Great episode, with an especially notable performance from Goodwin, whose Clive is dealing with a lot. Losing a current girlfriend, and two previous friends he grew to love, not to mention, the investigation yielding a scandalous love triangle leaving two dead, a mother responsible, and teen having consensual sex with her stepfather.

And Vivian Stoll told that zombies are no longer safe from detection produces the main arc for the remaining third season . 4/5
