Scream: Resurrection - Blindspots
With Amir’s creative death putting away the “snitch”
(Ghostface in the elevator, going down, after penetrating Amir through the back
with a morgue bone saw, damn near a sword, slides all the way down his torso…ouch!),
and Deion being taken off by the police (Liv informs the police that he was
with her father) because he was with Liv’s cop father when he was attacked by
Ghostface, the final two episodes are really set up.
Jamal actually took the bullets out of Deion’s borrowed gun
so he wouldn’t do anything stupid, which is why Ghostface escaped unscathed.
Blindspots confronts issues with the likes of Liv and Deion.
Mr Fade Productions seems to be helping employ Deion’s brother, Jamal. The San
Diego State recruiter doesn’t come to Deion’s school which means he doesn’t
appear to have options outside of high school football. So he convinces Jamal
to allow him to associate with Jamal’s crew…and picking up a “package” would
seem to implicate Jamal will take Deion down a dark path. Liv and Kym talk
about Liv’s mother cheating on her father and then Deion sleeping with her and
believing she’s a suspect not long after. While Beth isn’t convinced Liv isn’t
the true suspect, Kym has a “feeling” she’s not the Ghostface.
Mr. Fade conversation between Jamal and Deion gets intense.
Jamal doesn’t necessarily deny he’s Ghostface, but he does admit to replacing
Shane at Fade, “hustling” with product on his own. Deion watches helplessly as
Jamal provokes from inside his car, asking him what Ghostface’s next steps
would be…Liv a likely target. Driving away, Deion tries to get Beth to find Liv
and rushes to the hospital, but the security cop drops meds, goes to the floor,
and receives a knife in his back of his head. Ghostface then sets aim on Liv’s
father, pulling out his tube as he suffocates. Deion watches him leave, grabs
some oxygen, and resuscitates him thankfully.
The title derives from a conversation between Liv and Beth.
Beth tells her friendship is a blindspot and can get them killed. Deion commits
to finding his half-brother before he can dedicate himself to Liv. While Jamal
doesn’t dismiss being Ghostface, a phone call from the killer takes offense to
someone else taking credit for his or her handiwork. That is the big reveal at
the end of the semi-final episode. A garbage picker used to remove trash from
the party Mr. Fade Productions threw together is used by Ghostface as a weapon
on Jamal. You’d think this was Jamal’s good riddance, his dearly departing the
series. 2.5/5
