Having plans to watch the fourth film in the Silent Night, Deadly Night franchise, since I had no intentions of watching The Toy Maker this December, I decided to have it on while taking care of my write-up for an X Files episode.  It is amazing the left turn this franchise took with the fourth and fifth films. Abandoning the "crazed Santa brothers" plot of the first and second (and somewhat of the third) films, The Toy Maker went with a robot son, booze swilling toy creating genius played intensely by Rooney (as if he could burst blood vessels at any moment), and killer toys. Sex and violence and toys doing very bad things at Christmas time.
