This is my official blog banner for the 2014 Slasher Summer, taken obviously from Slaughter High (1986). The selection is a little more all over the map instead of just in the 80s, but no slasher summer would be complete without several selections from the decade that left its impression the most on me. With Slaughter High, Sorority House Massacre, Curtains, and Return to Horror High on the docket this year, there's plenty of good times ahead.
Slaughter High has more re-watch value for me than most other 80s slashers. I'm not even sure why that is but for some reason I find it one of the most entertaining.
ReplyDeleteI think it has immense cheese value and the setting (and mask for the killer), not to mention its bit of notoriety with the suicide, has lent to its appeal and interest. I look forward to watching and writing about it this summer.
