The X-Files - Ghouli

Just quickly as I still plan to review the eleventh season during the summer, I had to herald the beautiful and heartbreaking moment in the X Files episode, Ghouli, where Scully believes she's saying goodbye to a son she never had the chance to bond with. He's the kid with alien DNA, who can make people see what he envisions. Two girls he's been seeing, securing their affection, are urged to an abandoned ship where they see a creature called ghouli. Swinging at it with a knife, instead they attack each other. Scully has a vision "between sleep and awake" which leads her to an open X file, as location investigation takes her to the ship of the knife slashings. Her son's adoptive parents are shot and killed by "D.O.D" before Mulder and Scully arrive. A third shot appears to be the boyfriend of the slashed girls, and search through his bedroom reveals evidence that he is Scully's son. Believing her son dead due to the gunshot wound to the head, Scully just emotionally responds to the loss. Mulder heard enough, too, being there for her during this devastating experience. Fans who love the character Scully and Anderson, who portrays her, should most likely be moved by this. It is a welcome dramatic scene...as for her son, that is a topic for a different write-up.
