Miami Vice: Third Season starts

As much as the fifth season caused me such woes a few weeks ago, starting on the third season has been right the opposite. Political intrigue with Liam Neeson speaking on Ireland while falling in love with Sandra Santiago's Vice cop before committing to a potential act of terrorism in "When Irish Eyes are Crying", Bob Balaban's geopolitical on-the-ground correspondent (and Vietnam buddy to Crockett) getting mixed up with G Gordon Liddy's Maynard (undergoing violent operations in Nicaragua) again thanks to a video recording resulting in a town full of innocent women, children, and church priest being shot, many killed in "Stone's War" (where a news journalist is also killed for refusing to give up a tape provided by Balaban to her), a DEA agent blackmailed by a criminal drug organization for his jai alai playing brother's drug and prostitution use in "Killshot", and Tubbs going to prison undercover in order to bring a warden and guards dealing using the prison as a network due to his girlfriend catching an errant bullet during a shootout of drug dealers in "Walk-Alone" (Castillo having to go in to the prison to rescue Tubbs when his cover is blown) prove right away that despite how cool and hip the first two seasons were, Dick Wolf might just bring a grit and strong storytelling edge to Miami Vice. So far so good!
