The genius of the writing staff of Castle Rock once again was on full display with Henry Deaver, an episode that dropped today on Hulu, the finale coming next week. While my review for the episode isn't finished yet, I wanted to use a side bar to praise the use of Skarsgard throughout, an enigmatic character given meat, musculature, and vessels to the bones. I was at work and I was hit with a thought like a ton of bricks...the scenes in The Queen where Skarsgard treats Ruth with particular care and affection, wanting to make her a meal, run her a bath, give her a sedative, and afterward when he cleans up the house, lay her down, looking to get help from Andre Holland's Deaver when Alan was killed. Why Skarsgard never hurts and even dances with her and knows what music she likes: in his time line Ruth is his mother! Yep, the woods is like a time portal or rip where alternate timelines can meet, allowing visits, even if not encouraged, from those in each one to pass into the next. So Skarsgard being Henry Deaver in his timeline, meeting the adopted Holland Henry Deaver in both opens up so much to absorb. Skarsgard isn't some Boogeyman or devil or representation, symbol, or the like...he's just a doctor, and a brilliant, kind one at that, who is a victim of circumstances beyond his control. Lacy considering him a Godsent evil to imprison for 27 years, I told a girl at work that I think the warden killed himself because he realized he was wrong and felt guilty, choosing the location to off himself due to it's being where he found Skarsgard. Skarsgard had another life and needs Holland to get him back home. But all of us who were watercoolering why Skarsgard was so caring towards Ruth and getting so much unloaded today, all I can say is is Woah.

Henry returns home...in his timeline
