Alexa Bliss is Right
Tonight WWE Raw Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss, was told by the general manager, Kurt Angle, that she would not only have to defend her title at the Elimination Chamber against most of the roster but if she survives that gauntlet, another ridiculous obstacle stands in her way: if Nia Jax were to defeat Asuka in the same night, WrestleMania will feature a triple threat for her title. Now Bliss addresses this with Angle by pointing out the fact that Brock Lesnar doesn't have to defend his title in the Elimination Chamber yet she does. Absolutely true that this is unjust and just plain wrong. Now whether you agree that this is sexism, her having to work that Chamber and a possible triple threat, Bliss has a point. Already having to face Asuka--we have seen what Asuka has done against the likes of Bayley and Sasha Banks--is enough of a daunting task much less endure he Chamber. Granted she hasn't defended the title since October, but Bliss made a good retort: whose fault is that? She doesn't make the matches, he does. Then Angle, considering he has no correct response to combat her point, leaves it up to the fans. Obviously they are against her. I couldn't agree more with Bliss. She got screwed.
From a storyline perspective I hope WWE Creative doesn't abandon this and follows up on it. Bliss' argument has merit. Why doesn't Nia Jax get put in the Chamber? Maybe this will be a developing, ongoing bone of contention towards Angle. Nah, I doubt it.
