Rollin: Location, Location, Location.

If you just read through the IMDb user comments, perhaps you will notice the severity of his reach to the masses. Okay, you'll read a lot of "God, shoot me, this guy is boring!" I'm being kind. I like him, though.

I was watching Shiver of the Vampires (1971), and I think part of his appeal to me is the use of idyllic Gothic structures, highlighting their decadence and archaic opulence (you can see the affluence of yesteryear corroded by time). He loves skulls (there is this aquarium in the chamber room where the goldfish swim around a skull!), as evident in this film. I didn't include the image of the aquarium (which is the centerpiece of this ritualistic ceremonial display with candles and a chair), but the structures and the (obviously; this is Jean Rollin, folks) cemetery.
