Random thoughts.
While watching the movie, Stripped (2012), there's a scene where someone, in a hotel room that might have been paid for just for sex with a hot call girl, with a cigar in mouth. With the television showing Criswell doing what he does best as the narrative voice that opens one of the greatest turds ever to grace the screen, Plan 9 from Outer Space, the blond call girl, in lingerie, walking about with a swagger of "yep, I'm desirable and know it", prepares a drink laced with a drug that will render her client unconscious. All that opening plot aside, the whole point of this post was the carpet that crashes the fall of the glass with ice from the guy's flopped hand. For whatever reason, Kubrick's The Shining (1980) came to mind. I thought this carpet is eerily reminiscent of some carpet you might see in a hall of The Overlook. Whattya think?
