Day Four--Carnival of Souls
Turner Classics is showing horror films every Friday night, and while Night of the Living Dead yet again seems tempting, I had decided rather early September that it would make my Halloween night line-up this year. I actually have Night of the Living Dead-Re-Animated I plan to watch in the coming days; looking forward to it as well.
I did, however watch Carnival of Souls yet again, but I have already reviewed it for the blog back in July so I decided to just comment briefly that it was nice seeing the Janus films, Criterion edition print with a good audio track and clear, crisp picture quality. The ending stood out this go around just because it looks so ominous with the obvious overcast skies and moody gray that even lends extra potency to Mary's final trip to the Carnival before she's returned to where she belongs. I had the lights out and laid back after a long, tiresome work week and let the film just work its spell yet again. I can't say this enough, I love me some Carnival of Souls.
